Pre-race routine:

got to site at 5:45am set up and stretched and did a short swim warm up. Night before at salad and a mini burger at Ruby Tuesdays. Not good nutiontion, do CARB loading next year

felt good on swim I did get cramps in hamstrings even though I was not kicking much. stayed pretty straight on lines although I was on an outside track about 15-20 yards from bouys. Rain began while I was in water and I did not know it until I came out of water and it was raining. My googles were water spotted and I thought it was on the inside and almost stopped to clean but didn't. I found out it was on the outside due to the rain when I came out of lake
What would you do differently?:

not much just work on going faster for longer period. I am worried about going to strong and running out of energy so conserve maybe a little to much

knee problem, not enough training miles

great race, I listed my performance physically and mentally as 4 not because I performed to a level 4 but because due to my poor conditioning the physical and mental effort that I had to give to get to the end in the time I did was a 4

Course: out and back hills. It was hot and humid but not real sunny. I did good through 5 miles running all the way and then walking at water stops just enough to drink water and gatorade. Between 5 and 6 walked some and then it was a slow downhill in energy from there. At 6.5 miles at the 5 hour mark. to met goal of 6 hour just needed to run last 6.5 miles at 6.5 mph but could not do it the back of my right knee was extremely sore. Maybe damaged ligament or something still sore one week later. Cramps in hamstrings and quads also but superisingly not in calves. Had to walk maybe 3 of the miles back I could not run more than a few hundred yards at a time due to my knee hurting so bad.
