Swim
Comments: First pool swim. I had to remember to breathe, to slow down and not burn out too fast. 3 of us clumped up together which made lanes changes a little difficult. What would you do differently?: Practice swimming more. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition, did it quicker than I thought I would. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Fun bike. I did pass lots of people, but I got passed as well. Also, lost my chain at the end of the race. This is my 2nd race and second chain drop. What would you do differently?: Need to practice drinking on the bike. Also, need to learn to change gears earlier as to not drop the chain as I am climbing hills. Transition 2
Comments: This should have been quicker, since I don't have bike shoes. But, other people crowded bikes on the rack and I had to do some moving around to have some room. What would you do differently?: Nothing, couldn't help the placement of bikes on the rack. Run
Comments: Had to walk lots on the run. My calves were very tight coming off the bike to the run. I definitely need to practice this brick in the future. Very enjoyable run though, through trees, nice and cool. What would you do differently?: Work on running. Post race
Warm down: Hugged my family and walked around, got some water. Enjoyed my finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training Event comments: I had a great time at this race. I will definitely do it again next year. I had only been actively training for about 2 weeks, so not too shabby. Finished 10 minutes faster than my goal time! Great to have family and friends out there as well. Last updated: 2007-08-28 12:00 AM

Got up at 5:30 a.m. ate 1/2 English muffin with peanut butter and a banana. Got to the race at 6:30, set up transition, talked to QCTC crew waiting for my swim time. Had a gel 20 min before my swim time.
No real warm up, just some good conversation with fellow triathletes prior to race.
