Swim
Comments: This was a decent swim for me. I had planned on 1:55 so this was a PR for me. What would you do differently?: Settle the first 200 yards. I had a panic attack and almost hyper ventilated until I began to pray and calm down. After that I found a rythm. I would have not looked up so much I was staying on good course. Transition 1
Comments: The transition was about a .25 long. I also stopped to Pee. But it was about how longI had alotted. I was really hoping for about 8. What would you do differently?: Ran with the bike through the grassy part. That could have saved a minute. Bike
Comments: FIRST BIKE SEGMENT 22 mi (1:28:38) 14.89 mph SECOND BIKE SEGMENT 23 mi (1:32:45) 14.88 mph THIRD BIKE SEGMENT 30 mi (2:08:36) 14.00 mph FINAL BIKE SEGMENT 37 mi (2:20:10) 15.84 mph TOTAL BIKE 112 mi. (7:30:09) 14.93 mph 1561 What would you do differently?: Nothing on the ride. I may have carried less water bottles because I had four but never went through them before the next stop. Transition 2
Comments: I love the fact they take your bike but wish they would have gotten them at the beginning of the shoot. What would you do differently?: Too much time. I needed tocut that by 5 minutes. Run
Comments: I walked almost the whole course. My feet had such bad blisters. I stopped tobandagethemthat iswhere you get the 18 minute miles but it did not help. FIRST RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:02:51) 15:42/mile SECOND RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:06:15) 16:33/mile THIRD RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:07:24) 16:51/mile FOURTH RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:02:51) 15:42/mile FIFTH RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:13:22) 18:20/mile SIXTH RUN SEGMENT 4 mi. (1:13:36) 18:24/mile FINAL RUN SEGMENT 2.2 mi. (29:24) 13:21/mile TOTAL RUN 26.2 mi. (7:15:43) 16:37/mile 1553 What would you do differently?: I had blisters so bad. I have to find out why I keep blistering. Post race
Warm down: Sat. I began to drive heave. I think I needed food. Was as nausas as ever. My feet hurt so bad i could not walk. What limited your ability to perform faster: Blister, inexperience. I also needed to work harder on the run. Event comments: My wife was my saving Grace. She wanted this as bad as I did. Her coming across the finish line with me was so fitting. She is "Ironwife". The biggest supporter that I have. This was really just the day that God shined on me. Everything just fell together. Coming in right in time what more could you ask for. I got every penny worth. here are the pics from the trip and the race. http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z139/laurastrange/Ironman%20Loui... Last updated: 2007-08-28 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00am showered and put on tri suit and clothes. laura drove me from my parents to the waterfront. About a 15 minute drive. I was still real unsure about where to seat myself with the interval start. I was still unsure of the course change.
Stretched and sat along the walk and waited for the pros.
