Cycled the run course, trotted for 10 minutes. Fell off sidewalk & split open knee 10 minutes before swim start. Felt really silly.

Knee bothering me for 1st half of the bike. Through town was a bit tough, going out and on the last part. Had to watch for cars/turns. Definitely glad we drove the course the night before. That being said, most of the route had at least 2 volunteers at every turn.

Work through town better.

Walked the poor dog who'd had to sit around for a while.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Falling & not knowing if my knee was bad or if I was just a wimp cause me to slow up some.

Event comments:

Where the race really struck me was the number and cheerfulness of volunteers. I think they were better at their jobs and more upbeat than at any race (100+) I've ever done.
