Swim
Comments: Fastest IM Swim (or any other long distance swim). Current probably was the cause. What would you do differently?: Swim faster Transition 1
Comments: Changed from swim shorts into bike shorts and other bike attire. Put on sunscreen, etc. Very long run with bike to get to mount line What would you do differently?: Just change faster Bike
Comments: Bike computer didn't work. It worked the day before at check-in, but only had cadence. Water probably got into sensor. This probably gave me a faster split, since I wasn't trying to hold pace back. I was very happy to finish under 6 hours What would you do differently?: Check to make sure bike computer sensor is covered if rain is forecast Transition 2
Comments: Long run with bike from dismount line. Volunteers racked bikes. Changed all clothes for run to get out of bike shorts. Pretty quick change What would you do differently?: Change faster. Run
Comments: Very, very hot on run. First lap felt pretty good, but 2nd lap was more walking. Should have had a faster time, but the heat took it's toll. Many people being tended too on run by medical staff. Used ice / sponges / water at every aid station. Had to make 2 pit stops for "nature calls". What would you do differently?: Work on longer transition runs to get used to running so tired Post race
Warm down: Snacks at KICC, then shower, pick up equipment, then dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. Back to finish to cheer on all final finishers What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat of the run took it's toll. Event comments: Great Race !!! 2 1/2 hour PR from IM Wisonsin in 2006 Last updated: 2007-09-03 12:00 AM
