Swim
Comments: I'm actually very happy with my performance. I wasn't setting any speed records, but I was very consitent and steady. I conserved my energy and still set a PR for this distance. What would you do differently?: Next time I might try to draft a little more. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit came off fairly quickly. I just was pretty slow about things. What would you do differently?: Practice my transitions a couple times before the race. Bike
Comments: I was very dissapointed in my bike. I knew within my first quarter mile that I just didn't have 'it.' I didn't expect a great performance because this was a 'C' race and my legs were already sore, but I should have done much better. The course was relatively flat, but I struggled on the tiny hills and just couldn't seem to get in a groove. What would you do differently?: Not sure. A proper taper would probably have helped, but this race was not a priority. Transition 2
Comments: Once again, I just wasn't real fast. I decided to put on socks due to all the water. What would you do differently?: Train without socks so I'll be comfortable without them on race day. Run
Comments: The most dissapointing aspect of the day. This was about 3-4 minutes too slow. I just couldn't seem to get going. What would you do differently?: Other than rest more before the race, I need to take a look at my nutrition during the bike so that I have a little more boost on the run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: This was a C race and my body wasn't fresh and rested. Event comments: This was an outstanding race. After seeing how well J&A did, I'm really looking forward to the Longhorn HIM. Last updated: 2007-09-04 12:00 AM

Got the transition area early and set up. Had my normal liquid breakfast.
Not much of a warmup this time. I usually like to swim before the start, but only the open wave was allowed. I also spent the time I had alloted to run in the line for the bathroom. Oh well...
