Pre-race routine:

Stayed at the Crown Plaza nearby and parking was a mess. I would not recomend it.
Event warmup:

Comments:

This was an unorganized start. After the 10 min walk from the T1 area to the swim start, there was no direction as far as what the swimmers should do. People just got in the water and started milling about waiting for some instruction. Finally, a guy with a bull horn started giving pre race instructions at 7:03 (7am start time scheduled), but we were already out in the water ready to start. At the same time, the guys in the kayaks were ushering us back 30 yards to the "Starting line". Anyway, this could have all been avoided with a better prerace meeting conducted prior to the 7AM start time.

the running route was good but a bit confusing to me. Anyway, I just ran where I was told and it was all good.

Event comments:

I think the hotel experience in addition to the lack of organization will prompt me to look for a different race next year. Plus, with all the good pubs downtown, they should make this a Sat race so it is easier to enjoy the nightlife.
