I was surprised that my run time was first in AG. I felt like a snail in molasses. It got really hot at about 1 mi. I passed at least three or four people on the run. I had to struggle to stay comfortable, breathing was rough. There was enough left in the tank to kick and pass one in my age group in the last .1
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really, except train more to be faster

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need bike shoes. I also need to learn to run without socks.

Event comments:

The only bad part about the race is the run on sand. The volunteers, food, and post-race activities are amazing.
