Swim
Comments: As stated above, the intention was to keep the buoys to the right and round and head back. The mass took off and ended up rounding the buoy from right to left, leaving complete chaos in which people were swimming into each other. To add to the equation, the Long Distance Athletes were also doing an out and back which joined us. This was pretty chaotic. What would you do differently?: Practiced dodging oncoming swimmers. Jk, but it made the swim pretty tough and I expended a lot more energy than I had planned. Also, the swim had to be short of the .9 mi because there's no way my swim time improved that much. My guess is 1200. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Very happy with the bike. My computer shows it at 24.5 miles and I was consistently at 19-20 MPH on the straightaways. There were some tough stretches along with some massive descents, one of which I got up to 39.5 MPH. What would you do differently?: The only weakness I had were the climbs and this is something I would really like to focus on at some point. Transition 2
Comments: First T2 with clipless pedals and it went good. Racked the bike, slid into the shoes and was off. What would you do differently?: Notta Run
Comments: There's improvement so I am happy. The hills were crazy challenging, but I never walked. I've never run up or down something that steep in my life, and let me tell you it is not a good time. On a positive note, I felt like my steady pace was solid and I still had something in the tank to finish at an all out sprint. What would you do differently?: Get faster. Post race
Warm down: Caught my breath, walked around, grabbed some food and sat looking at Lake Geneva for a few. Event comments: The swim knocks the race down a little bit but the rest of it was very good. I felt the bike and run were organized, and the course was pretty challenging. Last updated: 2007-09-08 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:50AM and it was still dark out. Made a PB & J sandwich, filled the waterbottles, put the bike on my car , and began the 11 Mile drive to the racesite. The race was located in Fontana while we stayed in Lake Geneva.
Jumped in the water and swam 100M or so to get the body warmed up. Had to stay in the water until my wave was called otherwise I would have been pretty cold. Chilled out in the water and floated around for about 5 minutes.
