I hadn't been in a canoe for at least 10 years, and Jodi hadn't ever, I think. Neither of us was very strong at paddling, and we were pretty badly out of sync.
What would you do differently?:

Practice canoeing with Jodi prior to the race.

I wanted to go faster, but Jodi didn't. I felt a little sluggish at first, having just got off the bike, but loosened up after a bit, and really wanted to try to lengthen my stride coming in to the finish.

I don't know how fast I would have gone if I'd been able to set my own pace, but I'm pretty sure it would have been under 10-min. pace.
What would you do differently?:

Train more.

Warm down:

Not much. Grabbed a bottle of water, a pretzel and a couple of orange wedges, and walked around for a few minutes while eating and drinking.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was a little scatter-brained in the transitions.

Event comments:

This was an enjoyable event, although Jodi and I both would prefer to stick to individual races in the future.
