Swim
Comments: I don't have enough time to focus on swimming as this is the event that I feel the most confident with given that I have very little time in the pool, so with that said I was very pleased with my time. What would you do differently?: Get more time in the pool, once a week would be an improvement. Transition 1
Comments: I really tried to go faster in transition and I did make about a minute and a half improvement over my Danskin T1, but it still seems like I am pretty slow comparitively. What would you do differently?: Not sure, maybe I should cut out gloves or something to help my time. Bike
Comments: I was feeling GREAT for the first five miles of the bike and my avg speed was about 19.5, then I had a flat and lost over ten minutes trying to change it myself, failing and then finally having the sag wagon come by to help me. By that point, I was so discouraged and frustrated and really thought that it might be the end of my race because I couldn't change the tire (I tried, but couldn't get the tire off). What would you do differently?: Not get a flat or at least learn how to change one. Transition 2
Comments: This was a better time for me, but still could work on speeding up Run
Comments: Overall I felt great on the run, I think I could have even pushed it a bit harder, but I was trying to watch my HR and not let it get too high. Post race
Warm down: Found Doug, got something to drink and then hung out with the BT group. I had a great time meeting some new folks and putting faces with screen names. It is nice to know people at the event. What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall I was really pleased with my race, but wished I could have avoided the flat. It was mentally draining as I really was frustrated by not being able to change it on my own. At the end of the race I felt like I had plenty of gas in the tank and feel much more confident about the half Event comments: I enjoyed the race and especially liked Tom's sense of humor as RD. Ate two waffles and a banana with PB. Got in the car for an hour drive to the course. Drank some coffee and tried to stay relaxed.
I did a little jogging, but not much else.
