Swim
Comments: Really felt good on the swim. This has been my focus and I am proud of my progress. Kept good technique the entire swim and my breathing was much better than my last race. I was able to navigate around other swimmers well and really felt great coming out of the water. If I can handle the swim like this everytime I would be a very happy man What would you do differently?: This time nothing. Transition 1
Comments: No problems Bike
Comments: This was the first race with my K-factor. Man, what a differance!!!! the bike ROCKS. The aero position on the tri set up was comfortable and the bike is very responsive. Not used to shifting on the aero bars and had trouble getting the gearing right. I shifted way to much as a result. Passed a lot of people on the first half of the course and then got passed by some during the second half. These must have been the slow swimming cycle studs because i averaged 20 mph and these guys were FLYING buy me with their Zipps and Discs humming. I felt like my effort on the bike was a good race pace for me. In the past I felt like I slacked a little What would you do differently?: Work on my shifting with the new bike. Transition 2
Run
Comments: GREAT RUN FOR ME. having the Garmin 305 really helped me. I tend to go fast at the start and bonk 1/2 way through. Having my current pace info really helped me focus. I started out at a 7 min/ml pace and as soon as I saw that I said "slow down dude" and I then I really focused on staying close to a 8.5 pace. no bonk this time. kept that pace and my HR around 150 and felt good. the last 1 to 3/4 miles I really picked it up and ran sub 8 mile with my HR at 160+ and finished strong. I never do this and it felt great!!! What would you do differently?: need to work on leg endurance. my legs really feel heavy as I progress Post race
Warm down: Got some vitamin water and shade and stretched some. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Training. Training. Having the garmin 305 really helped me manage my race better. I was faster and felt better b/c I didn't let my excitment take me away to an eventual bonk. Event comments: Much more organized then the Disco. There were plenty of volunteers that were very helpful. Pre-race announcments were difficult to hear. Last updated: 2007-09-15 12:00 AM

Arrived at the event around 5:30 and set up my transition area. My race started at 8 so I had alot of time to kill. Spent most of the pre race time at the beach watching the 1/2 and Oly guys go off.
Not much in activity to warm up. Being that the swim was 500m That was basically my warm up for the bike and run
