Swim
Comments: Since it was a pretty cool morning, and I have done most of my training in indoor pools, it was a little cool getting into the water. But once you got in, it was fine. What would you do differently?: Swim all the way to the wall and get a good push off. Not sure why I was stopping well before the wall and then not getting more of a push off. Also need to use a stronger kick on the final laps. Transition 1
Comments: Went fairly well, got my socks on quickly, ran the bike to the mount line. Bike
Comments: First time with my new tri bike. I only had a few training rides on it, so wasn't very familiar. Unfortunately, I dropped my water bottle the first time I went to grab it, did the rest of the ride with no water. Legs felt kind of dead after the swim, not sure why ... maybe due to the lack of a warmup on the bike. Started to feel good my second lap and it was much faster. Unfortunately had a bad side stitch throughout the bike that never went away. Made the ride somewhat uncomfortable. What would you do differently?: Start off a little slower, gradually build speed. Transition 2
Comments: Took my time a little too much. Had some trouble getting the race number belt on. Run
Comments: As per my plan, started easy, then tried to pick it up. Unfortunately, didn't have much in the tank to really pick it up much. I am definately capable of doing better here. Post race
Warm down: Walk, get some water and food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Side stitch. Event comments: Great race for a great cause. Last updated: 2007-09-19 12:00 AM

Up at 5 AM, had a english muffin with peanut butter and jelly and a gatorade. Short drive to tanglewood park from my house < 5 miles.
Wait. Since I am a slow swimmer as you can see by my time, had to wait around a long time. Spent most of the time listening to music, trying to relax.
I need to establish a routine of some kind here. Thought about bringing my road bike to warmup on. Will probably do that in the future.
