Swim
Comments: Swimming is NOT my strong suit, but I've been trying to work on it. Never had my watch on or anything, so just had to go on feel the whole time. Was really difficult because my LAST MINUTE goggle change was the worst decision ever because my right eye was leaking!!!! NOOOO!!! I blame that for my bad navigation!! :) What would you do differently?: Wear my planned race goggles, and learn to swim faster! :) Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit stripper did an awesome job today! THANKS!! Bike was so close to the exit decided to put my shoes on in transition and it worked out quite well today. What would you do differently?: Not much. Bike
Comments: Had my HR monitor hanging off my aerobar so didn't look at it too much except the time a few times. Just went the whole thing off of RPE. Probably - actually I KNOW I could've rode harder, but just didn't want to blow up on the run today. I guess it's all about learning. Decided to ride the first 1 1/2 loops easy then if I felt good start pushing - plan went decent. Passed a lot of people on the few hills there were which was good. What would you do differently?: Keep a better eye on HR and time - I know I can push a bit harder than that. Transition 2
Comments: Decided to wear socks, which my feet were happy for. What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: I LOVE RUNNING!! I honestly love the feeling I get and I could do it forever! Even when it hurts like it did in the last 2-3 kms here, I still love it! Run went good, kept a good pace the whole time - made SURE I watched my pace/HR because I knew what I could do here. Passed a lot of people, started after T2 in 77th and ended up in 29th overall. Very happy here. What would you do differently?: Keep up my pace for the last few kms, but other than that it went well. Post race
Warm down: stretching, eating and sitting in the lake for a few minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being able to swim fast, and not pushing myself on the bike. Event comments: Great race, awesome volunteers! But I wish the roads were better for the bike - way TOO many people had flats. Last updated: 2007-09-25 12:00 AM

Up at just before 5am and had a Boost. Got ready, had a bagel with PB and Honey and a banana at 5:30is - 2 hours before the start of the race. Head to the race site and set up transition - in the rain! Fun!
Not too much, a quick few strokes in the water and that's about it.
