What can be said about my first Marathon... My PIC and I signed up for this back on October 2.... What a day...

After a few injuries and lots of Half Ironman training we both decided that we would just train for the half. We did just that. The most we've run in calendar year 2007 and ytd 2008 has not exceeded 13.1 miles.

We've been however busting ASS for 34 weeks now and it was the right time to peek into the Abyss together...

Cotton gave me some words positive words of wisdom which I took to the bank today and there... Rock ON!!

"Don't let all the Yahoo's running the 13 miles get the best of you as they pass you. Run your race and serve them all a SHITBURGER at the end.."

We did exactly that. We locked the GPS in at 9 min/ mile pace for the first 13.1 and put the hammer down in the back. Man did this feel good today.. Running with my PIC- both of us without any answers, advice or experience. It was just the unknown- especially without any training past 13 miles. We literally had no clue what lied in the Great Wide Open.

As it turned out, many runners passed us in the front of the course and I mean many... But after mile 15..... Anoder story baby...... We were passing everyone and it seemed NO ONE could get the best of us for the rest of the day.

We did well. We are tired, but happy.

What would you do differently?:

Wait forever before making a wrong decision.......

Warm down:

Crossed the finish line smiling with my PIC hand in mine. WOW!!!!! Hooked up with the families and went straight home...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nada.....

A huge thanks to my wife for once again giving me the play time I need to live like a Rockstar. My PIC for ALWAYS being there- in the good, bad and ugly WIDE OPEN.... Cotton, for the advice of the day and for mentoring me from Day 1.

ALL my friends for the positive energy and support. Could not have done this without you guys!!!! You know who you are.... It's the positive energy that made the difference today!!
