Swim
Comments: i started away from the pack but it worked to my advantage coming out of the water 5th, in the first wave. so the swim went really well. What would you do differently?: stay closer to the buoys and draft off of other swimmers. Transition 1
Comments: put shoes on and didn't bother to put on my shirt from the swim transition. which turned out to work better as my transition time seemed quick. put anti-chaff all along my arms and legs, especially around the wrist when taking suit off What would you do differently?: nothign really to work on except just transition faster as there is always room for improvement and I would definitely put a shirt on next time Bike
Comments: bike was my weaker point and it showed, my swim helped me stay ahead of alot of people. What would you do differently?: - push harder overall - Fix my cadence computer before the next race - Have Aero bars and stay in Aero position which means train in the aero position - not look back behind me every 5 minutes to see if someone is going to pass me, just ride my race and have fun. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: - take the helmet off as i am running with the bike. - bike faster into transition as i really slowed down Run
Comments: my legs were really off at the start of the race and I was cramping up at least for the first mile so I had to change my stride What would you do differently?: push myself harder, from the turn on. at least keep at 6:30min to 7:00min pace - More bananas(or atleast one for breakfast) - More training on the run although i felt my weak spot was the bike Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I was not up to par with bikig and running and towards the end of the bike/ into the run my right hamstring was cramping up so a. train better, b. more potassium and c. stretch alot more. nutrition during the race, i would of at least had something during the bike as that is the best time to down fluids. Event comments: being my first triathlon, I felt it went pretty well, the swim was my real strong point and I know I didn't go all out on it either, I was taking my time, opening my stroke up and swimming my own cadence. got there at 6am so in case I got lost trying to find the race I would of still had ample time. 6:45am picked up race packet, but before then around 6:20am, pulled the bike out and set up transition area close to the exit of the bike so that I wouldn't have to walk to far wit my bike shoes.
should of had a better breakfast but instead had leftover pasta from the night before
