Stretched a bit, used the bathroom at the office that belongs to the gym I just joined. Membership is paying off already! Lynne and I had some water, chatted a lot.
Event warmup:

Wandered to the starting line.

  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Really fun! Could have done the 10k if I was healthy, but am glad I kept it to 5k due to that and the fact that I woke in the night with another sore throat, fever and headache! Argh!!!
Post race
Warm down:

Had some water, fruit, snack bar. Got a photo taken. Chatted with my step brother and step-sister-in-law. She'd actually designed the shirts, which were really cool, nice tech tees in a mossy green

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick.

Event comments:

Very nice race. Only complaint is that it took a long time to get the race number--people who reg'd day of race got theirs a lot faster.

How's this for consistent? Mile 1: 8.47 Mile 2: 8.47 Mile 3: 8.46 Was 100 out of 459 for women's finishers!
Course: Flat, oval through the town of Issaquah. It was very well marked, safe, lots of volunteers to direct traffic. 1600 people were running so it was nice and wide with room for all to run or pass. The 10k started ahead of the 5k and their route met up with ours about halfway through.
