Swim
Comments: Loved this swim. So much shorter than the Olympic I did last month that I almost felt relaxed! What would you do differently?: One day I will learn to swim - before June 1, 2008 and the Ironman 70.3 in Boise! Transition 1
Comments: The transition semmed smooth as I was in the first wave so it was not yet crowded with the "pro's and 1/2 Man participants. What would you do differently?: Liked this transition, but wish I could sock up a little faster with wet feet. Bike
Comments: I loved the Bike again and believe that this is a new PR for my bike. What would you do differently?: I think I may need higher gears. I was in my top gear for the majority of this race and had the energy but not the gear to go any faster. I may have to ask a bike expert or fellow ESCKTC member what they suggest. Mybike has improved the most this year, but I still think that I have more in me. Until my run improves, the bike is my best bet to make up my swim time and to set up for a run with a buffer. Transition 2
Comments: I have not learned to ride with my feet ontop of my shoes yet and the distance is a little short to worry about it, but may have to look at this for next season. What would you do differently?: Think I still need to run a little harder with the bike and rack a bit faster. too long swapping shoes and jersey's. Run
Comments: 90 plus degrees around a lake on concrete and next to freeway bound traffic is hot. not a little hot, but wicked hot! this was warm even though I live in Arizona! What would you do differently?: Really need to work on my run. So need to do more bricks or swricks so that my run is muscle memorized as afgter I am already tired. Post race
Warm down: Lots of walking about with BT'rs and East Side Cool Kids Tri Club! First Brian, then Rick, then Sally, followed by Rick again and met up with Cris followed by Aaron. Wow, just missed Jen finish, but caught her with the Pizza and then waited with Cora while we watched Paulette, Tanya, Harry, and Josh do a loop of their 1/2 Mary. Chris and I cheered Tanya and Harry from an Aid station and then made it to the Finish line as Josh rocked it. What limited your ability to perform faster: Guy in pink Crocs dropped out of the race. Would have gone faster especially in the run just to make sure I beat him is he would have been in the race! Event comments: Wow, from them threatening me to kick me out for complaining to advertising and then announcing the wrong wave starts in addition to droppin pre-function good time events from their announcement, I was wondering if the race director even knew what day the race was supposed to be on when it was all said and done. That said, I still had at least one and perhaps 2 PR (Bike and maybe sswim) so I am happy I stuck it out. Last updated: 2007-10-04 12:00 AM
