Comments: Started out way too fast. Trying to keep up with those around me. Outside of my comfort zone. Found a better pace for me after about a mile. Still, that initial burst hurt my race at the end. I was expecting 35-36 minutes, so sub 32 was awesome. What would you do differently?: Need to pace myself better, especially for longer distances. More warmup time needed too. Post race
Warm down: Out of race shirt, put on fleece vest. Hydrated with 3-4 bottles of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Still learning my body and how it needs to run. My first race, so I was happy overall. Event comments: This was an awesome event. Race director Julie Healy does a fantastic job and the runners come first with her. Look over course, pick up race pack. get very nervous
Slow stretching for 7 minutes......slow jog around the park for about 6-7 minutes.....couple of short sprints to increase heart rate. Just breathe
