Swim
Comments: It was amazing to see the cancer survivors going strong in the water. It was such an inspiration. I was so nervous before the swim. I am not a strong swimmer. Just focused on going to one buoy at a time. Kept telling myself that I could do this. Someone next to me was back-stroking and splashing water on my face every time I tried to breathe. I told myself just keep going. What would you do differently?: practice swim in the ocean more. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: The course was nice and smooth. First time riding there. The air was cold against the wet clothes, took a while to warm up. Everybody was nice encouraging each other. What would you do differently?: Do practice on the actual course. Transition 2
Comments: the bike next to me was pushed to my spot, could not have enough room to rack my bike. Run
Comments: felt like my legs were frozen in the beginning of run. I expected but, took a while to feel comfortable. Couldn't go faster than I thought. Well, it's not going to my fastest run, so what, I would be happy just finishing the race. Post race
Warm down: walked around a bit with a bagle. What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough practice. Event comments: It was my very first triathlon. I am so happy I finished it. I wasn't fast, but I am so glad I finished it. I am glad I chose this one. People were very nice. Volunteers were nice, too. The pre-race expo was very informative. I even made a friend! I want to do this race again next year. Last updated: 2007-10-15 12:00 AM

Ready for my very first Tri race. Packed all, went over the check list three times. Prayed they were not going to cancel the swim. It happened to me last year in Hawaii. It could've been my first tri.
I was too nervous to think about warmup. My husband called me from Iraq to wish me luck. He was always there for me when I do a race. This time I was doing alone. I don't know anybody in SD since I just moved here recently with my husband. But, he had to leave for Iraq last month. It was nice to hear his voice.
It was nice to see some familiar face from SD tri club I just joined.
