Comments: Really didn't think I was going to be able to beat 29 minutes, so was overall pretty pleased when I heard mile times being called as I passed. I started relatively easy pace, but after the first mile tried to make my pace "strong." This is when I ought to wear a HRM. Anyway, last mile, I focused on cadence, and that seemed to help a lot. I felt as if I was moving at a fairly quick pace, but well within my control. What would you do differently?: Focus on cadence sooner. Push a little harder. I probably could. Post race
Warm down: None. What limited your ability to perform faster: Haven't done a stand-alone road race since February, so really felt out of my element. Got there. Got registered.
About 10 minutes easy running with some pickups to get my heart rate up and warm up since it was chilly. Did a few quick striders right before the start.
