Pre-race routine:

None really. Got to registration 30 minutes before the race and was lined up to run five minutes before the gun.

Comments:

The strongest winds I have ever experienced were on this run. I think they were wind shears next to the two ballparks. Lots of people ran, good volunteer support.
What would you do differently?:

Wouldn't have wimped and worn a rain jacket/windbreaker. Although it worked well, I would have not been as warm as I was and may have gone faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Water, chocolate milk, nu-go bar and stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I had taken two weeks off from training one week before the race and lost some speed.

Event comments:

They had a drawing for two precor treadmills for runners who stayed behind after the race. Very cool.

It's a great tradition and way of giving thanks every year. Thanks for the gift of running and thanks for a workout that makes the post race thanksgiving meal consumption not as guilt-inducing...

Course: Started in front of Downtown YMCA on Blvd of the Allies, ran west to Point State Park and around to the Pittsburgh Hilton, turned right on Ft. Duquesne Blvd., left across the Clemente Bridge, past PNC Park then left and left again on far end of PNC Park, ran river walk to Heinz Field then past the Carnegie Science Center and did a turn-around on the road at the foot of the West End Bridge, ran past Heinz Field, took a left through the parking lot, ran back to backside of Heinz Field, turned around and ran back along underpass road, back to PNC Park, back across the Clemente Bridge and back to the finish at the Downtown YMCA.
