Pre-race routine:

Stuck in traffic trying to park. Ended up parking in a panic in a mall parking lot so I wouldn't miss the start. Still ended up getting there about 15minutes before the horn.
Event warmup:

Ran from the parking lot to the race start, then some strides and leg lifts etc.

Comments:

Decided i was going to use a 6min run, 1min walk interval. Thought I could push the pace for that long and rest for the next one. Walked 14 times, so 14min walking. 14*.07 is .98miles or basically just 1mile. 13.1 less 1mile is 12.1miles in 1:33:42hms is 7:44min/mile avg.
Post race
Warm down:

Finished just before the start of the Kids run. Isaac ran his first 'race' and was totally disoriented and mixed up at the end. I got his finish on video. I wish i'd had enough time to walk him through the little loop course. I think it was only about 50yds in length. At the end he didn't want his finishers medal, almost like he was embarrased by the run? Not quite sure how to describe it. I reassured him that he did excellent in his race and by the end of our little talk he accepted the medal. Maybe it was the stranger giving him a medal?

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more training miles and more track work.
