![]() Swim
Comments: Started near the front, because I can.. and I hate swimming over people. The wave was pretty tight so there was a lot of contact at the start and the intermittent contact throughout. Got hit in the face at about the 250M mark, left side of goggles filled with water.. (RANT) some dummy was swimming behind and to the left of me, and we make contact, his hand on my lower back, and then we make contact 10 more times, as he repeatedly hits me in the back.. move over idiot .. went wide on the bouys which I think added sometime What would you do differently?: take better lines.. missed my ideal time.. but still happy with sub 2:00 pace ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Just took my time because I had decided before the race I was not hitting the run hard.. What would you do differently?: nothing ![]() Bike
Comments: As everyone said, hilly course.. tried to push it, but I have had this muscle pain under my right ribcage since Monday.. well it would kick in around 173BPM and I would have to back off.. was hoping to do 20+ split, but knew I couldn't hit that with the stomach pain. Saw Tim on Linthicum and yelled some encouragement. Used Michelle's Zipp404's, can't say I noticed much of a difference, but didn't expect that I would .. but really you never know What would you do differently?: Push it real good :) ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Awesome dismount, loved it and people where cheering it.. once I got to the rack just took my time since the plan I wanted to stick to meant NO HARD RUNNING What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Run
Comments: The plan: Get through the run without flaring up the IT Band. Result: Success!! So I went out slow, and kept it that way.. if my knee started acting up I would walk a little.. this strategy worked.. and the knee felt good at the end.. and I was even able to pick up the pace to sub 8 for about the last 2 miles.. woohoo What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Post race
Warm down: Saw some folks, massage, and food. Watched the pro awards, and was standing next Margie Shapiro, so I chatted with her a little, super nice and friendly. PS Des Ficker is still my favorite pro :) pps I didn't see Jessie Stensland so maybe it is still up for debate What limited your ability to perform faster: My desire to have a good knee at the end Event comments: At first my thought was, yay got Columbia under my belt.. now I think I am on the I want to give Columbia an honest try boat.. so maybe next year I will be out there with guns blazing.. good race, hard.. but good Last updated: 2007-10-21 12:00 AM

Got home from Michelle's brothers wedding (Great Time, and only a couple dranks) around 12:30.. immediately went to be to rise at 5AM. Started to get stuff together, left remembered I didn't bring breakfast, or my race chip. Returned home for a take 2.
Setup transition, watched earlier waves. Ran into Amy, Chippy, Tim, Jan, Dan, Ally at different times.
