Swim
Comments: This swim was ridiculous!!! I was fighting waves the whole time. Amazing I didnt panic. I have swam in Lake Mead when it was bad before, but not quite this bad. Some of it was kinda fun...like body surfing!! Got more serious on the way back in once I realized I was taking wayyyy too much time to do this swim! I had a thought during this swim that it would be just like Frank to create this wind and waves just to make this race more difficult. I know...he is my swim coach!!! LOL What would you do differently?: Well....hmmmm. I dont think I was in charge of the wind and wave thing :P. I need to focus better and be more confident in the water. Transition 1
Comments: I was so surprised by someone wanting to help me with everything. I just spaced out what I was supposed to be doing. Who cares...it was cool! What would you do differently?: I dont know...it wasnt like it would have mattered in the grand scheme of thangs. Bike
Comments: I have had a chance to ride this course year long, I felt really comfortable and I was doing really well until I got to the River Mountain Trail and ran into a headwind the whole trail. I almost didnt make it up the 3rd sister and I have never had a problem before. It was pure hell the rest of the trail. After turning onto Horizon Ridge I kicked it up a bit again, knowing I was almost done. I never wanted to be off my bike sooo badly! What would you do differently?: Train in a windtunnel? Oh wait...I live in Nevada. Transition 2
Comments: I jumped off my bike and almost felt strange handing it off to someone after spending sooo much time togeter :(. Tried to run to tent, but Im sure I looked like I just got off a horse. Legs were stiff. The lady in the tent changed my socks!!!!!!! I couldnt believe it. Crazy woman! Put shoes, hat, race belt and body glide on, popped a couple of Advil for my hips and off I went What would you do differently?: Change my own socks! Geesh! Run
Comments: I am a horrible runner. I have been working really hard on this for the last few months. I have run this course a number of times, really working on running hills. Every race that I have had this year...I died on the run. Not this one...I was fresh and feeling strong. I was smiling the whole time because I was just so proud of myself that I had prepared for this race and mostly this run. I usually do this run in training at a 10:30 pace and I wasnt that much off of that pace. I couldnt believe all of the support from volunteers along the way. Made everything fun!! What would you do differently?: Nothing! Post race
Warm down: I had a bunch of people waiting for me at the finish. Even one of my tattoo clients came!!! I chatted it up and grabbed some grub and I had my first post-race beer ever! That was the best damn tasting beer I ever had. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind. Event comments: This is the most organized, most supported, most difficult race I have ever experienced and I loved every minute of it! :))) Last updated: 2007-10-22 12:00 AM

I only slept 3 hours. Woke up jumped in the shower. Got dressed, put everything in truck tried to eat a Clif Bar, but it wasnt happenin. Sipped on tea and water. Got to swim start just after the full went off :(.
Well, since I am prone to panic attacks, I swam out just past first buoy and back. I felt really comfortable in the water that day luckily. (I had no idea what was to come :O)
