Pre-race routine:

Arrived in Anthem in time to see the guys race. They were already set up and Tanya had saved me a spot on the girls side. Watched the guys race, heckling them a bit in transition then headed over to get ready. The weather was chilly, breezy and spotting rain. Kind of wished they had done the womans race first.
Event warmup:

Jumping up an down beside the pool- waited until the last second to hand my sweatshirt and crocs to my husband.
Swim
  • 08m
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Don't know my swim time as the timing mat was broken? I'm guessing that it took about 10 mins total to swim, run all the way around the parking lot and get through transition.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

This transition was SLOW. I'm not used to getting extra clothes on and my hands were cold- my fingers were not working well. Felt like I was moving in slow motion.
What would you do differently?:

Hussle!
Bike
  • 44m 32s
  • 14.85 miles
  • 20.01 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt pretty good on the bike. At times I felt like I was slow but would look at my Garmin and realize I was doing OK. Passed quite a few girls on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Tried to hussle but got my shirt sleeve stuck on my watch, forgot to put my yanks on my shoes and my fingers were having a hrd time tying my laces. Not a good transition.
Run
  • 26m 1s
  • 3.65 miles
  • 07m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt great on the run. I kept up with a lady who was keeping my pace and ran behind her for almost 2 miles, caught her with about .5 mile to go and we ran together then she told me to go on. I thanked her for pushing me.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I ran as fast as I could- faster than my usual 5k pace.
Post race
Warm down:

It was great to get to the finish area and hear all the ESCKTC peeps and my family cheering for me. Got something to eat and waited until they put the results up. I was happy to see that I placed 4th overall and won my AG- however I was mad when I saw that I missed 3rd place by one second. Darn.

Event comments:

I liked this race. The course was different from the reverse tri in september. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to do this race but I'm glad I did- it was a great end to the '07 season and great to see my friends compete.
