Run
Comments: Started out behind some kids that I knew would be in the way. Got around them and caught up to Dime and ran on his heals. Then took y turn up front and we cut the wind for each other for a while. Got to mile 1 in 5:40. I felt at ease and not pushing too hard. I just couldn't keep that pace for the whole race. Faded at mile 1.5 and several people passed me. I just wanted to break 19 minutes since I have never done it before but had been close. It was gettting dark since the race started at 6 P.M. So I couldn't see anyone behind me at the final turn to the finish chute. Kicked it in when I saw the clock reading 18:45, I knew I could do it. I did! The only thing that sucked is that my polar was full on the memory so I got no splits or HR. I am bummed because I wanted that data for LT purposes. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Train more than 20 miles per week. Post race
Warm down: Too cold. Went to dinner with the family, Dime and Sgt. Vik What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough running. Event comments: Good to see Kenny and his family. Fun times with Dime and Vik! I am very happy about the PR. Great freebies after the race. Last updated: 2007-10-26 12:00 AM

Warmup a bit and watched my kids take off on the 100 meter spooky sprint. M.J. was 1st, Madison was 3rd.
Ran a bit and did some strides at race pace.
