Run
Comments: Official time is around 1:56 but it took me over 2 minutes to get to the start line. I refused to push start on my Garmin until I make it to the start. We were packed in pretty tight. SC Trail was a little tight too, some of the runners would pass on the left not realizing that the sun was in our eyes going the other direction. I probably ruined some poor 115lb girl's PR today when I ran into her like a truck. Luckily she was fine but she was a little POed and I explained to her that I literally couldn't see anything with the sun in my eyes and that I had to look down....whatever, the clock is running d@mnitt!....I guess I'm a jerk... Started getting tired toward the end, combination of having to go to the bathroom (I simply cannot get my nutrition figured out!) and legs getting a little heavy. What would you do differently?: Maybe less coffee in the AM. Post race
Warm down: Great Warm down....first...someone gave me a mini-bison cheese burger. I followed that with water, a marathon bar and a handful of chocolate chip cookies and washed all THAT down with some gatorade....surprised I didn't barf. What limited your ability to perform faster: Running the last 5 miles having to go to the bathroom didn't help things. As usually, one bathroom and 2500 runners at the turnaround...Oye vey! Event comments: Woulda gave them a 5 if I hadn't lost two minutes at the bathroom that was so crowded I finally gave up and just ran the last 5 miles. A lot of runners piled on the layers during the cold start only to shed them on the trail. Note to self: Take off layers just before the start. Last updated: 2007-10-27 12:00 AM
