Run
Comments: I could tell this wasn't going to be anything great right out of the chute - Worked way too hard for first three or four miles. At first, cardio and unwilling legs were the problem, later it was just the legs - Tired. Tired. Tired. Found some rhythm around the ninth or so mile and the best part of the race was the end (probably cause I had gone so slowly up to that point ;-) Finished way off PR but I felt like I put up a good fight to get even the time that I did so I will try and not whine too much.. ;-) This race was nothing more than a stepping stone in my build towards IM Arizona in a couple of months. Having said that, this course definitely has PR potential - Decent number of flat stretches and only a couple of points where you were really climbing. I plan to race here again and get some payback. What would you do differently?: It is what it is.. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Long couple of weeks training beforehand and the lingering residual of a chest cold that just does not want to go away. Event comments: Nice little race in a great environment. Aid stations only had water and Gatorade - Not such a big deal for the Half Mary but the folks doing the full could not have been happy. It's a Boston Qualifier but not chip timed so my time is from my watch vs. official time. I plan to come back mainly because I see PR potential from this course. Last updated: 2007-10-29 12:00 AM
