Pre-race routine:

Had my muffin and drink. Not much diferent than a tri.
Event warmup:

Got to the event early and registered. Walked around and relaxed. Just try to stay calm for my first 10k. Met a nice woman named Shawn and her dog Tory. She was a marathoner and was just doing this for fun.

Comments:

Thought I would try to push the pace. I was told there were lots of hills, but I didn't have any idea how bad it would be. My goal was 50 minutes, but again that would be on a flatter course.

First mile was flying - 7:15. Slowed down from there.

Also was able to push up the hills. Felt pretty good for my first 10K
What would you do differently?:

I could have pushed a little harder but not much. Kept a pretty steady pace after the first mile. I probably would carry some water with me there were only 2 water stops and I didn't know where they would be.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and had some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nother, except maybe knowing the course.

Event comments:

This was a good race. I'll probably do it again next year.

Performance: Good
Course: Very hilly course. Weather was perfect for a run. I don't think I've ever ran such a hilly course. And or course it was all uphill. There were some short steep downhills, but many steep long uphills.
