Run
Comments: I literally kicked ass (for me). I thought maybe I was going too slow, but I kept hitting all the mile markers ahead of my goal, and I didn't feel like I was pushing much harder than usual. I was convinced I might lose some fuel towards the end, so I held back a little. But I made it a point to keep passing people, which felt great! What would you do differently?: Nada. I did a lot of talking to myself, telling myself to keep pushing to meet my goal (under 2 hours). I felt great! Post race
Warm down: Stretching. My hamstrings were feeling the burn from the hills. I was tired. Event comments: Loved this race, maybe I'll do the full 26.2 in 2008. Last updated: 2007-11-05 12:00 AM

My pre-race routine was driving down to Philly from Clifton, NJ. Ouch. We stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for some coffee and OJ. I had half a low fat blueberry muffin and a banana.
I stretched. For a really, really, really long time. I felt good. We got there early, so I was able to take my time. I trotted around other contestants and took my place around people who "looked like" me, as the announcer suggested. They kept playing the Rocky theme and Eye of the Tiger. Good way to get pumped up. People were quiet, but kept bobbing their heads to the music.
