Swim
Comments: Was chilly waiting to go. I went off withe the faster swimmers so I didn't have to wait as long as the other guys. Not going to make up a heck of a lot of time on a 400 meter swim, so not much to complain about. What would you do differently?: Swim faster :-) Transition 1
Comments: The route from from pool to transition area to bike seemed like 1/4 mile. I think it was pretty close to that. Soaking wet, barefoot in that cold was awesome! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: First loop was tough for some reason. Starts with a 1.5 mile hill that kicked my @#% coming off the swim. Got some gel in me and by lap 2 I was grinding. What would you do differently?: Strength train to get into another gear for most of the race. Also, get a new bike. The 25 year old Schwinn POS I'm riding just ain't cutting it! Transition 2
Comments: JELLO LEGS!!!!! Took me about 1/2 mile into the run course to recover completely. What would you do differently?: Brick more to get mind used to running on spaghetti. Run
Comments: First half of run course is one big hill. Not steep but constant. Once that was out of the way, it was all down hill from there :-) Zach almost passed me at the finish and he started about 10 minutes AFTER me! I would have never lived that down so I guess it was a small victory? What would you do differently?: Hide Zach's running shoes as I leave transition to buy some more time out on the course! Post race
Warm down: Stretched, drank some recovery stuff, ate a banana. Waited for the others to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: My old body. Event comments: Had a blast with the Club out there. Really enjoy hanging out with my peeps! I'm amazed how good of friends we've all become in such a short time. Joining the East Side Cool Kids Triathlon Club is one of my best decisions. Can't wait till the next event! Last updated: 2007-11-06 12:00 AM

Pasta for dinner night before. Up early (6 hours sleep since I had dress rehearsal for Vivaldi's "Gloria" Friday night). Zach and I did a two car convoy up to Anthem around 6:30am. Picked up the packet & chip, snagged a sweet transition spot and got ready. Hydrated and energy about 8:30ish. Headed to the poll with the other Cool Kids representing at about 8:50.
Stretched a lot. Made fun of Aaron's bald noggin and general Canadianess. Jogged about 1/2 mile with Zach ono the run course to get the blood going. It was pretty darn cold.
