Run
Comments: Felt pretty good mile 1, but by mile 3 my right knee was in serious pain, and it continued to get worse as the race continued. By mile 8 I was in severe pain, from my knee up to the back of my hip. I tried stopping to stretch, but it just was too late. I felt great HR, cardio, and energy level, but my knee pain was too much to overcome. What would you do differently?: It was so cold at the start, I did nothing to warmup, and really messed up by not trying to do some stretching and flexibility. Post race
Event comments: no finisher token, which was really needed after the crappy weather and conditions. Oh well! Last updated: 2007-11-06 12:00 AM

woke up earlier than alarm (0440), got up at 5:20am, ate oatmeal and headed out the door at 6am.
none--big mistake! It was freezing, windy and raining, so I stayed huddled in the metro till about 7:10, then ventured out to the race start. No stretching or easy jogging at all.
