Swim
Comments: Started at the back of the pack which turned out to be a problem. I was concerned my left shoulder would be a problem and the fact my last three weeks have not included a lot of swimming. Well, the shoulder did limit me some, as I could only breathe on the right side. But I felt great and cruised along, having a little problem swimming into slower people. What would you do differently?: More training, figure out the shoulder pain and start a little closer to front. Transition 1
Comments: There a long run from water to transition...everything went smooth except for the fact I missed my bike rack. Wetsuit came off in a flash. Got right on the bike and got away. What would you do differently?: Get the right bike rack Bike
Comments: Everything went well out to the country road, then the tailwind pushed me along. Then the turn around.....the speed fell quickly and those hills on the way out became a "character revealer". The new bike performed admirably and the new AERODRINK made hydration a breeze. The headwind was tough but I stayed in aero position for over 90%. What would you do differently?: Need to work on the hill sets Transition 2
Comments: By the time I returned all the people around me were out on the run.... so I had to invite a new place to rack the bike, but it did not slow me at all What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Because I kept a good cadence on the bike, transition into the run was better than I could ever expect. The first half mile of the run is through some park paths and I felt great. Then you move to a local greenway with little shade. Tried to keep turn over consistant and it lasted about two miles. Came in 15.59. Then began to slow. Mile four marker was 35 minutes. Then the last mile really slowed. Last half mile is back on paths with several small uphills, and did not finish as strong as I would have liked. What would you do differently?: Still need more running work but have dropped from over ten minute average to 9 minute average Post race
Warm down: Loaded up on natural sugars (apples and bananas) and drank some water. Then met with Circle City teammates for gropu photo and waited for Julie to finish Event comments: This is the first time at this race and everything from the swag through the post race eats was great. I definitely want to return Last updated: 2007-11-10 12:00 AM

After a tough night of sleep (huge storms rolled through our area), woke up at 4:30 to meet buddy for ride over.
Ate traditional peanut butter and honey sandwich.
I had everything but my bike packed the night before so things went smooth.
After hour and half ride to site, unpacked and did some light streching.
