Pre-race routine:

Drank coffee at the hotel..drove to the race...picked up #..255 and weighed in.. Benched press 110#'s 31 x's to able to reduce my run time by 15 minutes.
Event warmup:

Taped my ankle, ate a power-bar and drank some Gatorade, jogged to the start line...listened to Arnold say a few words..he has started the race 7 of the 8 years that the event has taken place!!

Comments:

Too fast at the start but did finish quite nicely with not the drop off that I normally see..Official time was 20 minutes flat but I think I got under the tape at 19:59..
What would you do differently?:

Not much, again, warm-up better...like always...start a little slower..run behind a couple of big guys to block some wind..

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ankle injury..my buddy called it an Ankle Impingement..

Event comments:

Great Race..loved the EXPO afterwards..Next time I have to remember to stay at the Hampton Inn across from the Columbus Convention Center..just would have been too easy to stay there.

Mile 1 =6:07 Mile 2 =6:25 Mile 3 =6:47 0.1 Mile = 0:41 6:27 pace for race Way too fast for first mile but it was mostly with the wind and downhill..
Course: The course was much more hilly than I remember...The first 1/4 mile or so is uphill then downhill and flat and obviously fast..I was flying..The last half of the 2nd mile was uphill and against the wind..I made a turn into the wind and the start of a hill and 2 big guys past me..I must have come to a standstill turing that corner..The last mile is mostly flat with some uphill at the beginning. The last half of the race was into the wind..I thought it was quite windy. But it was a beautiful day!
