Pre-race routine:

Get there early and get transition set up. Get the family area set up.
Event warmup:

Get everything set and go to the lake and swim for a warm up.
Swim
  • 13m 12s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 46s / 100 meters
Comments:

I do not know how this was my best swim yet. I was caught in the pack for most of the swim. I was smacked in the back of the head by another swimmer. The final strait was so shallow I was dragging my hands on the bottom. I gagged on water and almost puked. Still a PR!
What would you do differently?:

Try to start at the front and get ahead of the people who can not swim a crooked line, let alone a strait line.
Transition 1
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

The transition was on a hill which led to the large hill that started the bike leg.
What would you do differently?:

Put shoes on in T1 and clip in instead of having shoes clipped on bike and putting my feet in on the move. The hill and my wet feet made getting into my shoes difficult.
Bike
  • 37m 54s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 19.63 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a good ride for me. It was not my fastest ride in a race, but I had a much better pace and the result was a much better 5k at the end of the race.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push a little harder. I also got out of my shoes way too early and had to ride the last 1.5 miles with my feet on top of my shoes.

Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 23m 24s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder. Maybe run hard in intervals.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in the shade and drank some fluids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.

Event comments:

I still wish there was some activities for the spectators.

Course: Course started up a big hill and remained hilly for the entire ride. I did not like that they had bikes sharing a lane going both directions coming back into the park. Other than that the course was great. I really liked the hills, they made the course interesting.
