Swim
Comments: I started of great, and really tried to get in a good rhythm...Tons of elbowing and kicking in my legs and people grabbing my feet. I always try to draft, but I end up in the front of my wave all alone. I started picking people off one by one, good, getting ahead...ooohhh look how clear it is, those are pretty rocks! Back to sighting, around the bouy, wow, this is much longer than the sprints I've been doing. Just keep swimming. Wow, was that a guy! they were 2 waves before me. Keep swimming, I see the end. Ok, now up and tear the wet suit off. I run into transition. There are still many bikes in my area (we were grouped my AG) What would you do differently?: Nothing..I love the swim portion Transition 1
Comments: My suit got stuck on my left heel..i should have used the wetsuit strippers! My TA was the furthest possbile point to the bike entrance,. I ran most the way then walked to catch my breath and then finally got there..it was like at least 1/4 mile! What would you do differently?: use the wet suit strippers Bike
Comments: Oooh..the damn wind. I started at 21 mph..loving it with the tail wind, but the minute we made our first turn, there was wind. It was off and on, so I could speed up, but then it would slap me in the face. Then there was this friggin 25 year old girl who would pass me, but then slow down, so I would pass her and it went on for a good 4 miles. I tried being helpful and tell her she would go faster if she would put herself in the big chainring, but she yelled at me and said she didn't care and she didn't care if she ended up drafting (which she did for 2 miles!) Last time I try and be nice!!! I finally passed her enough to put a good amount of space between us. What would you do differently?: Train more! I think I had been on my bike 4 times in the past 2 months! Transition 2
Comments: Got of f the bike and someone fell off theirs behind me. All I heard was "I'm alright" there was a bunch of spectators, so I am glad it wasn't me . But they clapped for her! I ran the 1/4 mile back to my rack and had a bit of a struggle to get it in, but finally did it. ..grabbed some water and my race belt and I was off. Run
Comments: Oh boy..this sucked!!!!! I was doing fine, mile 1..thinknig great if Ic an keep this up, I'll totally finish around 2:40..way below my prediction and goal. Mile 2 still doing great..took water at every stop..feeling good... Said hi to all ym Club mates. Then Ouch! My hips...Wow, where did that come from. I could barely walk, let alone run. OOOh..maybe I can run a few minutes. Nope, back to walking and rubbing my hips. Well, that's what happens when you do a 60 mile walk 3 weeks bofore a race! I really tried to walk/run and All I could think was there was no way I was gonig to make my 3 hour cut off. I am almost crying, but I wouldn't give in. then a young kid on a tram said "Pick in up, run" I could have slapped him silly. Um, you get uot here and do this! But, I still pushed on. Almost there, 1/2 mile left. I can do this, I won't walk through the finish! I ran some more, in pain, people were cheering, I think that guy yelling my name is Bill (big sexy) and clapping and thank god I made it. ..Then I cried! I jsut missed my vut off! But for wlaking at least 3 miles, I am happy What would you do differently?: Not do a walk 3 weeks before my race. Train a bit more, STRETCH Post race
Warm down: Streatched, ate soem chips, drank water and watched the rest of my friends on their HIM What limited your ability to perform faster: Still need to train more, Event comments: I think this was a great race...really well organized nd the bike route ws well marked and the police men were fantastic. I tried to thank them all as I went through the intersections. I am really happy I was able to complete an OLY, especially since my training has lacked the past few months. Great ending to my first season! Last updated: 2007-11-13 12:00 AM

BIG MISTAKE. his dog wouldn't stop whimpering and barking, there was a party with DJ and loud music all night and I pretty much wok up very hour on the hour. Thank god for gettig a good nightsleep Friday night. The only great thing was that he lives 7 minutes from the race site.
I got up at 5:30 and had protien bar and banana, Got my stuff and went to the site.
My wave didn't start until 8:27, but transition closed around 7....So, I watched the HIm waves, took a dip in the water nad swam a bit, then lined up for my wave
