Bike
Comments: Had a fun but tough day, we started off as a group but it was hard to stay together, rode the first 3/4 of the ride with tanya and harry. I found out at the start line that you aren't supposed to have aerobars but as mine are threaded for my shifters I couldn't take them off. Because of this I couldn't use my aerobars the whole time. This was tough as I'm totally addicted to them. I felt good most of the time but really started to feel it at mile 80ish, right after a long hill section. I stopped at an aid station for awhile, it really helped me. Had some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and pretzels, washed it down with a couple cups of Tang and felt much better. The last twenty miles were pretty tough, my legs were cramping going up the last hills, but I knew I could make it if I just kept pedaling.I had a slow ride especially toward the end but I'm glad I got a chance to experience this distance before IM training starts, lets me know what I have in front of me. What would you do differently?: I should have eaten something before the start of the ride. I could have been more fit for this distance but it was a fun day. Post race
Warm down: Drive back to Phoenix so I could be at work by five o'clock. Event comments: Thanks to Tanya (standswithfist's) for helping me get registered and hauling around the bag with my numbers, timing chip and some lead weights. Last updated: 2007-11-14 12:00 AM

Drove down to Tucson Friday night after work. Got into town about 1:30 am and crashed out in the back seat of the truck for a couple of hours. Woke up a little before 5 and got ready. Met up with the ESCKTC guys and headed over to the start line.
Trying to stay warm.
