Run
Comments: I was running well until the halfway point. At the halfway point I started feeling lousy. I stopped for water then continued on at a pace that felt like a crawl to me. About half a mile from the finish I stepped up the pace to try to just finish and get done with my uncomfortable race. About 300 feet from the finish I totally ran out of gas. I nearly walked across the line. What would you do differently?: Daily asthma medicine will hopefully fix my running races.... Post race
Warm down: I nearly passed out after the race as I was having an asthma attack (figured this out the next day with my Doctor). I was hanging onto a fence post feeling dizzy and nauseous. I went straight to the massage tables so I could lay down. I felt absolutely crappy, and could hardly speak for the first half hour after the race. About thirty minutes after my finish, I finally dragged myself halfway across the park, and laid down as I could not handle driving. I laid in the grass under the beautiful sky and tried to figure out how and when I could leave! What limited your ability to perform faster: ASTHMA kicked my ass. Event comments: Great 5K series that is run in several places around the country. There is a kids race, great atmosphere, and lots and lots of stuff at the finish. Last updated: 2007-11-15 12:00 AM
