Run
Comments: Therun went OK. I was so damn tired from about 3 nights of not getting much sleep. I fell asleep sitting on the curb before the race started. I never felt really bad, but I just never got it going, either. I got caught up talking with some guys early and by the 5 mile mark I was already a minute behind pace. I was on cruise control and didn't start feeling too tired until about mile 17. First walk break was at the 20 mile mark, then made it to the 22 mile mark and then walked at each mile marker, but never for more than 30 seconds. I did have to stop wiht about 1/2 mile to go which pissed me off, but I had to.Overall, not a bad run - only3 minutes off a PR but not a teerribly strong mental effort. What would you do differently?: Get more sleep leading up to the event Post race
Warm down: walked around, got something to eat, and caught the bus bcak to the hotel What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of sleep the days before Event comments: Disney does everything well. Good course, great volunteers. Everything jsut flowed very efficiently. I would strongly recommend this race to others, espceially beginner marathoners. Everyone was so supportive, and there were a ton of walkers and team -in-training people. Last updated: 2007-11-15 12:00 AM
