Jogged 1/2 mile to start and then stood for 20 minutes waiting for the start

Comments:

Run felt okay. 1st competitive 10k. 1st hills of any kind. Was kinda hot at about the 5k mark and all the way back to finish, a little shade the last mile to 1/2 mile, that felt good. Did have a little bit of a kick at the last 1/2 mile. HR maxed at 188 !!

Fastest, longest run ever !!
What would you do differently?:

Speed train a little better. Start slower and build up speed.

Warm down:

Just a long walk. No real stretch, had to hurry to get to Ignite Academy. A little sore (2 of 10) the next day.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Maybe interval / speed taining would have helped. Only started running 6-8 miles the last 3 weeks.

Event comments:

Great race! The long overpass in the middle of the race was pretty cool, tough, but good.I liked running through town. The finish past Minute Maid was nice. The cheering squads were nice but the families that came out in the neighborhood at the turnaround were great. I bet they thought we were crazy! lolo Great motivation...
