Pre-race routine:

S, S, S
Event warmup:

Woke up at 3 and ran 4 miles. Felt as if I needed this as leading up to the race I was so tight. I felt great running so early- especially in NYC.
Swim
  • 19m
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

The current was a lot less than last year. The wind was coming in the opposite direction as the current and caused a massive invasion of Jellyfish to sting me and most others. I got stung in the face, arms and arm pits.

OUCH!!
What would you do differently?:

NADA
Transition 1
  • 05m 16s
Comments:

A long run from the swim to Yellow Transition. 2 minutes longer than everyone in Red transition. A huge disadvantage to all of us in yellow.

Ran strong and hard on the asphalt and passed many of the people in front of me...
Bike
  • 1h 17m 9s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.32 mile/hr
Comments:

A great bike leg on a borrowed bike. No matter how great the fis, It just wasn't mine. I could not get in Aero because the stem was much longer than mine and so I rode most of the ride upright.

What would you do differently?:

Hammer!!!
Transition 2
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

A rough T2... Many people were trying to get into transition at the same time and it seemed like "what it is" was checking the yellow wrist bands on the athletes before letting them in....

Took too long to get in and out of this place.
What would you do differently?:

Be like Carlos Dollabella
Run
  • 48m 45s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 51s  min/mile
Comments:

A great run. I could have started the sprint a lot sooner... Maybe the entire last mile. Instead I played it safe and only sprinted the chute. Still NO EXCUSES!! FUN TIMES!!
What would you do differently?:
