Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:30 AM, showered and had a bowl of cereal and a banana along with a glass of juice.
Event warmup:

Omar picked me up and we got to the race about an hour early. We walked over and got our chip and since we had time to kill we went back to his car to warm up. We walked over to the start line about 15 minutes before the race and did some stretching.

Comments:

This was the longest I had ever run, as of date. I committed to running at my pace (10:30 early and then increasing to 10:00 as I warmed up) throughout the race and it really paid off. My last two miles were both around 9:00. Finished strong...great time for me as my goal was 1:23:00. Running with Omar was really helpful.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...seeing as this was my longest race and that I beat my goal by almost 5 minutes, I was extremely happy.
Post race
Warm down:

Water. Found Omar and home for Thanksgiving dinner!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just need more miles.

Event comments:
