Comments: Felt very good the first 4 miles. 5K in 28:01. Last 5K in 30:22 mostly due to fatigue, hills, and trying to get around people on the narrow bike trail. What would you do differently?: Run more often than 1-2 times every two weeks. I would have been happier with a time in the 56 minute range but that will come with more preparation and a little more work on speed. I think I can get under 9:00 minute miles with just a little more work. Post race
Warm down: Found hubby (he did the 5K) and my two buddies from work (Tom and Greg). Tom did a personal best at the 10K distance and finished just about a minute behind me. What limited your ability to perform faster: Ummmm....actually working at running. Congestion on the bike trail. The trail was icy down the middle with almost no room to pass on the actual path. Event comments: Great race with awesome volunteers. Very organized for such a big race with a 5K run, 5K walk, and 10K run. Last updated: 2007-11-26 12:00 AM

Banana, luna bar, half a cup of coffee, and water.
Walked back and forth from the registration tent to the car. Did some light stretching at the back of the pack before the start. Windchill was 19 degrees.
