Swim
Comments: best swim ever!! water was cold but you got used to it quickly. sighting was decent. tho i was following a pack that kinda went off course somewhat.......oh, and i almost swam right into travis as he was WALKING back into a better course line i guess........ What would you do differently?: nadda. very very pleased with this swim Transition 1
Comments: once again, caught a MAJOR cramp on my right calf trying to step out of the wetsuit (i think the wet suit legs are too long for me, that or my legs are too short for the wet suit.....) so instead of trying to stand there and end up getting another cramp in my left calf trying to get out of the wetsuit, i sat down and just pulled it off. that seemed to work. What would you do differently?: not get a cramp Bike
Comments: more on the "not enuff" above later. thought i was doing fine with everything. didnt feel like i was pushing the pace overly hard and was comfy throughout. did see a wicked wipe out after a guy blew his rear tire at about mile 50ish or so.........looked bad and i hope he was able to walk away from it. What would you do differently?: drink more (more on that in a little bit.............) Transition 2
Comments: felt good in T2. no complaints. didnt get lost in transition and didnt over run my spot.....mainly cuz i was chanting "red k, red k, red k" the last five miles on the bike....... What would you do differently?: nadda Run
Comments: BIG BIG BIG thanks to MaggyRuth and Aidonna for coming to my aid at the end. i was truly hurting in a big way and didnt realize it at first. they also sat by me during my stay in the med tent and even went and got my tshirt for me!! times like that make me feel very very very proud to be a donkey!!! What would you do differently?: finish all the fluids i had with me on the bike. when putting the bike back in the van at the end, i noticed that the bottle i had the perp in still had about 25% left in it and the bottle with the electrolytes still about 25% in it as well. must remember that even if it is cooler out, still need that nutrition in you. lesson learned! Post race
Warm down: one visit to med tent-ville What limited your ability to perform faster: improper nutrition on bike Event comments: Great event for sure!!! If I only do one half next year it will be spirit!! excellent job! and way to go donkey nation!!! Last updated: 2007-12-05 12:00 AM
