Swim
Comments: Wow i have not swam in 6 months and felt horrible after the first 100 yards. But I suffered through it and realize that no matter what 400 is not just an easy swim when you have not done it in 6 months. I was passed by 2 guys and passed one. Not sure if people laughed at me but I felt lame when I was passed. What would you do differently?: Swim even though training for a marathon. Put myself back a bit more in the pack so that I am not "touched on the heel". But I have to say the guys that did pass me... one in the middle of the pool and one that I let pass at the end of a lane were very nice about it. Transition 1
Comments: I have never had to do a transition so I was happy with this time and how things went. What would you do differently?: I would have ran a bit faster in to the gates and dried off my feet a bit more before getting in to my shoes. Bike
Comments: Had a great ride. Started out with a quick mount and felt great the whole time. Passed lots of people on the bike and was never passed. Even passed the two guys that caught me in the pool before the end of the transition area. Saw a couple of guys that flatted.... sorry guys What would you do differently?: Iam sure that I could have pushed much harder but who cares I was having a blast!!!! Transition 2
Comments: I feel that this transition area went well. I did feel wierd getting my running shoes on. Not sure what the feeling was but I almost fell over and I grabbed the rack. That is a mistake I almost dumped a bunch of bikes..... that would have been bad! What would you do differently?: Not sure what makes it easier to get in to running shoes with wet sweaty feet other than wear socks... but I need to find that trick Run
Comments: Felt great in the run. I Need more bricks so i can learn to controll my heart rate. Was passed by one guy in another age group and I passed a few including 1 in my ag. Did not wear any gps but thoes that did said that the course was long by almost .4 miles. Would make more sence with my times if that was the case. What would you do differently?: overall i am happy with the run just a bit slower than I usually run Post race
Warm down: Walk around chat with family and friends, cheer on others comming in and grabbed a banana and some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: For sure my swim. Not training that was a biggggg "my bad" 1:30 off my swim time would have put me in second in my ag and 1 min off would have put me on the steps!!! Event comments: Great local race. Well put on and lots of instruction so you always knew where you needed to be and what you needed to do. The bike in and out transition area was a bit scary with speed bumps and lots of turns but other than that a fantastic race. Last updated: 2007-12-09 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:15 and drove my sleepy butt down to the event. Found packet pickup and racked the bike. Set up the transition area and ate a banana and drank coffee in the dark with the other athletes.
There was not much that could warm you up with the Temp starting off at 47 with a slight breeze. So i mainly stood around trying to stay warm until my swim time. Some very light streaching and a couple brik short jogs to get the blood flowing.
