Run
Comments: Good run, stayed calm and comfortable. Didn't go out way too fast like that time. Wore a t-shirt and some running pants so no overheating. i was a little chilly at the start, but i quickly warmed up and got comfortable. i had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it. around mile 2 got a pain in my right foot. got another in the left foot. just kind of ran through it, although this is where i started walking a little. i got done and realized i had blisters on both feet in the arches. no clue why - i've been wearing these shoes for all my training since i got them. i have run 3 miles in them before. maybe it was rain and they got wet? i don't know why but they hurt. What would you do differently?: nothing. well maybe not leave my chip at home, LOL. Post race
Warm down: walked around in the rain. did some stretches and walked back to my car What limited your ability to perform faster: blisters around mile 2. made me slow down and walk a little. Event comments: Great race, very organized, tons of volunteers and plenty of water at the water stations. I had a great time and a great run. i am glad i wore less layers than last time and i'll do this one again. well hopefully i'll be up to the 10 miler soon :) Last updated: 2007-12-11 12:00 AM

hmm..let's see. laid out everything last night, got up, got dressed grabbed my bag and a bran muffin and left. got to the metro, realized my chip was not there. drove back to woodbridge from springfield, retrieved said chip, then drove to dc. no way i was going to make it if i got on the metro. by the grace of the parking gods, found a spot near 12th and independance and went to meet my friends pre-race.
warm up was jogging about 1/4 mile from my car to the event start and making it about 10 min before race time. did my gluteus medius stretch at the start and rocked on
