Precipitation
Total Time = 1h 40m 54s
Overall Rank = 3696/

Age Group Rank = 217/408
Pre-race routine:

Had a bagel with peanut butter and honey before i left the house, and a granola bar. this has worked well for me in the past.

Event warmup:

When i got downtown, stretched some before the race, could have done more of this, tho especially since it was so cold!

Run
  • 1h 40m 54s
  • 10 miles
  • 10m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Was a bit concerned that my right hamstring or my outer left ankle might start to bother me, as it did on my last 11mile run. I worked hard to make sure i was well hydrated, i stretched a bit more, and had a pre-race massage on Friday to help address those -- it seemed to have worked, as they are not bothering my now. Yay! Feel a bit tired and a bit tight, but overall pretty good.
What would you do differently?:

Work more on the longer distances and intervals before the race. The injuries a few weeks ago and the craziness of travels in the last 3 weeks impacted that directly.

Still need to work on speed!
Post race
Warm down:

Just walking and some stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The last 3 weeks limited my interval work and my last few longer distance runs. I think that would have helped.

Event comments:

The rain made the entire area a mess, especially by the end of the race. It left little desire to stick around for post-race activities.

Coming into the end area, they did not clearly indicate where post-race food was located.

Could have labeled some of the areas better with banners on the outside of the tents.
