Run
Comments: The day started with a horrible night, Alex is getting a cold and he was waking up almost every hour. It was very tough to get up this morning, I was ready to skip the race but John would not have any of it. So we went. Started out 10 minutes after the gun, for the first 2 miles to keep any sort of decent pace I had to run around the grass, and jump in between a lot of people. It was so, so crowded.Around mile 1.5 saw Shells, Slakey, and NL, said HI. I knew I would get tired at around mile 7-8 regardless of my initial pace, so I just kept at it while it felt good. I know I went first 3 miles at sub-8 speed and it felt OK, started pacing myself at no-slower than 8:30 after. Had some water and some Gatorade along the way, I can't drink and run, so I most water ended up on a ground. I started feeling really tired right when we got to Kennedy center, at that point I was just hoping to keep my pace and finish somewhat strong. Last mile was ENDLESS. I was really glad to finish, it was a hard race for me. What would you do differently?: Hopefully next time I would get some normal sleep the night before the race. Post race
Warm down: Saw Tommy, Jan, Slakey, and Shelly. Little bit latedr saw 3558 and Weds Looked for John, told him I was falling asleep. We shivered together waiting for our friend Jeff, who had out clothes in his bag. Unfortunately we had to skip after race breakfast because I was just not feeling awake. We went home and I collapsed with the Garmin still on my wrist. What limited your ability to perform faster: tiredness Event comments: Too many people ;) Last updated: 2007-12-14 12:00 AM
