Pre-race routine:

Coffee and bagel with peanut butter then Sherri and I were off and driving.
Event warmup:

Nothing warm going on here, walked to the start line in the very cold and windy rain.

Comments:

Miserable weather. My first run in the cold, windy, rain and I did not wear the proper clothing and I wasn't smart enough to bring a trash bag. I thought that I could just 'fake it' through the race...wrong! Before the race started I was soaked completely and shivering, this messed with my head. Overall the run was ok time-wise for me but not fantastic.

It was a good learning experience!
What would you do differently?:

Wear more layers and make sure something is waterproof, even if it's just a trash bag!

Get there earlier. We just barely made it to the start on time.
Post race
Warm down:

Once again, noting warm going on here. Walked around and then waited for Sherri to cross the finish line so we could go get dry and warm.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental toughness, I need more of it!

Keep on running more.
